Back when I was keen on doing big-wall climbing alpine style, Greenland and Baffin Island were very much places I yearned to go; the west face of Ketil being the core objective in a Baffin Island/Greenland summer. Sadly, being that getting my climbing partner and my schedules in sync seemed impossible, we abandoned the project. That being the case, I still have a lot of interest and keep the idea close to heart if only to visit Greenland in Tilman mode with some peak bagging on the side.
Maybe I should paint our boat yellow?
Which has a lot to do with the current rage I’m feeling with the very idea that the convicted felon (with followers in tow) is making noise about taking Greenland by force.
Of course, the Felon, being a bully and all, is just the kind of guy who would try and take over a place with a population of 56,699 using the shock and awe might of the largest military machine in the world. Then again, hardly surprising move for a man who cheats at golf.
Throw in Panama and Canada along with the Mexico and Honduras idiocy and folks flying the Stars and Stripes may find they’re not all that welcome in a lot of ports of call.
