I’ve taken a break from monitoring potential VolksCruisers for sale but from today’s cursory glance there is no shortage of boats for reasonable money available.
As to the Islander: work continues but most of the tasks are fairly easy and the difficult parts is in resisting the urge to throw money at needless things. The seductive lure of making a boat perfect, as well as mine, is still a factor whether you’re a minimalist or not. It just presents itself in different ways.
My current mantra is “Done is way better than perfect”.
For those with an interest in scows and suchlike you just might want to check out this design. Wrong on so many levels as a cruising boat but still worth a look for those faults.
