Everybody knows I’m not big on buying stuff. I do, however, have a want list. I’m pretty sure we all do, if only to replace stuff that’s lost or broken.
In our case, the first thing on the want list is a Suunto KB-20 hand bearing compass. It’s currently on the list because it seems to be the best bang for the buck I’ve yet come across, as well as being an exceptional compass. At between $80 and $90, I won’t be buying it but will get along with something less expensive. That said, I’ll still be keeping my eyes open for a used KB-20 or on deep discount in the future.
Something else on the list would be a pocket GPS. One that shows Lat & Long and is dirt cheap. A GPS like the Bushnell Back Track which I’ve seen for $70 would do the trick.
Pretty much everything else on my want list is stuff I need to build or fabricate. The only exceptions being a couple of exposure suits, PLBs, and a life raft which I’ll be discussing in the not too distant future after I’ve had time to research our options.
