OK, I’ll be the first person to admit that a watermaker on a sit-on-top kayak is dangerously close to insanity. That said, you have to admire the guy for doing what most consider an impossible task.

Yeah, pretty much everything you need to know to build your own inexpensive watermaker. How cool is that?
Being on a VolksCruiser you won’t be as space constrained and I’d vote for using a 40″ membrane which would up your output to around 20 gallons an hour. The cost of a bigger membrane and pressure vessel are just about the same as the smaller membrane so the overall price would be similar. On our boat, we use a small generator to power our system which has worked finest kind for almost a decade.
Anyway, just thought you’d be interested in a simple, inexpensive, and DIY approach to water making.
